AJAX

Ajax is a cross-platform operating system that is based on open standards such as JavaScript and the DOM. A major characteristic of Ajax is an increased responsiveness and interactivity of web pages achieved by exchanging small amounts of data with the server "behind the scenes," so that the entire web page does not have to be reloaded each time. This is intended to increase the web page's interactivity, speed, functionality, and usability. For example, Google Maps uses this feature when you zoom in on a location.

We recommend our customers to use best practices such as early-mockups, iterative design, continuous integration build and testing, and code reviews. Our goal is to minimize the risks associated with any IT projects and to ensure that a quality product is delivered to our clients on budget and on time.

Contact X-Wire if this is something you might consider putting into your project.

Joomla - Google Map Extension Customization

Here is an example of Joomla extension customization that we completed using Google Map. We are allowing the user to type an address and then locate the same on the Google map. Based on the exact location pointed to by the user, we obtain the co-ordinates [Latitudes and Longitudes] and email the same to the website admin along with the other contact details provided by the user on the form.

PhpBB - Walk Talk - The walkhighlands.co.uk outdoor community

We have developed a Munro Map module in the forum, which allows users to specify the Munros [Mountains] that they have climbed. This module usings Google mashup integration, which allows users to click on any marker [represents a mountain] on the map to view details about it.
