The Sim Browser provides cellular operators and third parties with the opportunity to deploy Value Added Services based on Sim toolkit technology. The Sim toolkit can be used to provide various applications to the end users such as Information services, Online Betting, Lotto, E-Voting, Location based services and many more. The applications are mostly menu driven and are fully dynamic in nature. This eliminates the tediousness involved in typing on the handset and remembering the numbers for each and every application and makes the application very easy to use, quick and user friendly. User-friendly Menu Driven applications are stored in the SIM card. The user selected service request will be stored and processed in the SIM card itself before sending the data via SMS to the content provider who in turn will process the request and send the request specific response to be displayed on the customer’s handset as a menu or text depending on the data request. Sim Browser works on Java Cards that are available in the market and most Sim card vendors manufacture Java enabled Sim cards. All phase 2+ handsets support Sim toolkit applications. The applications reside inside the Sim Cards and are synchronized as per the requirements of the Content provider’s applications through SMS. Hence any new application can be loaded into the Sim card over the air without user interaction. This removes the drawback of the requirement for replacing the Sim card for addition of new services onto the card. The applications residing in the Sim card can be removed in a similar manner making it easy for the content provider to manage the application and provide support. The Sim Browser uses 128 bit encryption methodology while sending sensitive information like credit card number using the key within the Sim card. Decryption takes place only at the application provider’s end that has the key for decrypting purposes. The users benefit from the Universal easy-to-use interface for services with full Unicode character support and high Sim based security. click here to see a demo. |
