We have developed a number of anti spam software for both Outlook and Express. A list of the features supported by our anti spam software is as follows:

• Bayesian algorithm:

  Our outlook spam filter uses a score based and self-learning algorithm used for spam detection and stop spam email. It is one of the most successful algorithms till date for spam detection with results coming close to 99% success.

• Content-based filtering:

  Content based spam filter works on words and phrases of email text and if it finds offensive content it gives that email a numerical value (depending on the content). After crossing a certain threshold, that email may be considered as SPAM Email.

• Denial of service protection:

  Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks are a significant threat to the availability of any company's networks and systems. This is generated by using remotely controlled or zombie computers to generate more requests on a device or protocol than it can serve. Our outlook express spam blocker is able to protect your server from the DOS attacks.

• Keyword blocking:

  We will provide option for individual users and administrator to be able to define words and phrases they want to spam block, once they are set, it will allow the spam filter to clear any email which has that word or phrase from reaching to inbox of the user.

• RBL and DNSRBL support:

  We use one of the already available RBL resources for getting the list of IP addresses that are blocked. This list will be constantly updated from web, hourly, daily and weekly basis.

• Rule-based scoring algorithms: :

  Rule-based scoring systems are a more sophisticated spam blocking technique than word filters. These systems, also known as artificial intelligence (AI) systems, are similar to word filters in that they also check for key words. However, whereas word filters simply just block emails that contain key words, rule-based scoring systems use rules to analyze emails and assign points to each key word it finds.
  
  For example, an email that contains the word "DISCOUNT" in all capital letters might receive +2 points. An email that has the phrase "click here" might receive +1 point. The higher the score, the greater probability the email is spam. If an email reaches a certain score or threshold, it is then classified as spam. Large quantities of spam and legitimate email are used to determine the appropriate scores for each of the rules in rule-based scoring systems. This makes our anti spam software are very sophisticated spam killer.

• SPF & sender ID:

  These protocols are used to reverse map IP address of the server sending email with the email domain DNS. This takes care of email spoofing, where spammers spoof the email address of others to send email from a mail server.

• Anti-phishing:

  We have a database of current phishing techniques used by spammer which is used to evaluate the email on the basis of very same database by giving the message content points as described before to enable the anti spam application to determine as to which emails are phishing emails.

• Whitelist and Blacklist:

  The anti spam software has a global as well as individual white and blacklists, which stops emails directly from those email addresses that are included in the blacklist. Thus making it an effective outlook and outlook express spam blocker.

VIRUS FILTER

• Virus blocking: All emails coming in will be checked for attachments, and attachments will be compared in following ways
  1. By directly checking MD5 hash of the files against the knows list of virus signatures
  2. If files are packed then, first the packed file will be scanned after that its contents inside will be scanned.
  3. It scans all the attachment files for known viruses signatures
  4. It will stop certain kind of emails from reaching the inbox which will have specific kind of attachments like, .exe, .dll, .scr etc

• Email tagging, quarantine, and blocking:

  Administrator can tag emails which are declared as spasm, incase they are to be downloaded on the client. One extra header will be added to the email for tracking purpose. Administrator/User will have option to set quarantine options, where it can set it to delete after particular number of days. Administrator/Users will be able to set Global and user specific blockings, these setting will be used by filter to decide on which emails to allow and which to block.

• White and black Lists:

  Administrator and users will be able to set global and user specific white and blacklists through web section.

• System Administration:

  Administrator will be able to connect to the Server and be able to perform general, domain based and user related settings, cleaning of messages, updates, and create/edit/delete user options including notification settings.

• Reports, graphs, and statistics:

  Statistics of all the emails declared as Spam and the reason for them being declared spam along with the time and date will be collected. These will then be used to create graphs and reports.
